• For those of you who joined us at our return to the New York stage last Friday at the Gramercy Theater... thank you, thank you, thank you! We had such a great time, and you made us feel so welcome!
A quick shout out to the other outstanding bands on the bill that night (Stairway to Heaven, Battle of Los Angeles and Schism). You all kicked some MAJOR boo-tay!
• Make sure you come down to Friday's show at MEXICALI LIVE to get your Floyd fix! After that show, we'll be taking a few months off as our US NOT THEM family is expanding. Look out for late summer/early fall gig listings soon! |

• We're thrilled to announce another "great gig"! We'll be performing at THE GRAMERCY THEATER (Formerly The Blender) with our old friends SCHISM (the amazing Tool tribute). • We are thrilled to announce that after a year and a half (and several member changes), we are FINALLY ready to announce a new show!
We will be playing 90 minutes of Floyd's greatest hits at THE WHISKEY BAR in Hoboken on April 7th at 9PM. Okay, okay, we know what you're thinking: "But it's on the other side of that big ol' river". Well don't let that stop you from getting your much needed Floyd fix. The club is just a few blocks from the very first PATH train stop in Jersey; the ride is only 14 minutes from Herald Square; and it's 50¢ cheaper than the subway! See you at the show! |
| January 25, 2010 |
• Happy New Year all!!!!
• Great news!!! Keyboardist-extraordinairre Tom
Wooley has joined our band! We knew he was the right guy from
the first note of his audition. We're very psyched to have him aboard!
• More great news, we've taken on a rhythm guitarist! With the
addition of the super-talented Tony Ponce,
we're able to reproduce every nuance of Floyd's epic recordings. With
all due modesty, if you liked us before, wait 'til you hear us now!
• Check back soon for new gig announcements!!! |
| January 2, 2008 |
• Happy New Year to all of our friends and fans!!!
• Also we're still looking for the right (Wright?) keyboardist.
If you know anyone that might be suitable, please DON'T BE SHY -
LET HIM OR HER KNOW!!!! Please contact us at info@notfloyd.com.
Thanks! |
| November 6, 2008 |
• Obama won!!!! But you knew that.
• We're
proud to say that we've been doing very well on the ourstage.com
cover band charts. Yesterday, we had 2 songs
in the top 5, beating out Grammy award winners Tuck & Patti -
whoo hoo! Our recording of Comfortably Numb has visited the number
1 spot a few times already, but we need your votes to keep it there
for a while. So please visit the site cast your vote (ya know... for
us) now! |
|
| • In other news, we're looking for a new keyboardist AGAIN!!!
Dave has has bravely decided to return to college, therefore, he can't
dedicate as much time to the band as he'd like. We're glad to say
that he will "sit in" with us when necessary/possible, but
we'll need a full-fledged replacement. If you know anyone, please
contact us at info@notfloyd.com. |

• There has been some confusion about tonight's show at The
Underscore due to.fact that we're not mentioned
on the club's web site. WE ARE PLAYING along with
CREME at 8PM as advertised. Hope to see you there! |
| September 15, 2008 |
• Sad news... by now, many of you may have heard that we
lost one of our heroes today. Pink Floyd's keyboardist Rick Wright
has died of cancer. We in the band are deeply saddened by his passing.
65 is just too young!
We hope you will join us at The
Underscore this Thursday, September 18th, as we honor the legacy
of this truly gifted and inspirational musician. |
| August 27, 2008 |
• We just wanted to take a moment to mention what a great
time we've had playing with LED
BLIMPIE & EMINENCE
FRONT at our past few shows. These are 2 fantastic bands and really
great people.
For anyone interested in booking these bands, we are available as
a ZEPPELIN, FLOYD & WHO SHOW PACKAGE as well as individually.
Contact: info@notfloyd.com
for package details and availability. |

• Thanks to everyone who came to rock out with us last night
at The Bruckner Bar & Grill. It was an awesome place to play!
We had a great time. It was so exciting for us to perform the WISH
YOU WERE HERE album, plus, ECHOES, PIGS, FAT OLD SUN and DOGS OF WAR
for the first time. |
| April 30, 2008 |
We've got 2 big announcements to make...
• First, Dave Kopperman has permanently taken over
the keyboard chair. A recording of his former band's version of
ECHOES first piqued our interest in his playing. Now we're very
pleased to have him as a full-fledged band member.
• Second, we've got another gig coming up Memorial Day weekend.at
the Bruckner
Bar and Grill in The Bronx. Don't let the location sway you,
it's in a cool very easy-to-get-to neighborhood (virtually under
the Third Avenue bridge) plus the food is amazing and affordable.
It's going to be a great show with 2 long sets, lots of surprises
and the classic WISH YOU WERE HERE album played in its entirety.
So that's May 23rd at 8PM. See ya there!

• The show we had planned for April at Queens College has
been CANCELLED. We apologize to anyone who was planning to come.
• We are currently hard at work adding even more Floyd
classics to our repertoire. If you have any requests, please email
them to info@notfloyd.com.
We hope to hear from you soon! |
| February 12, 2008 |
• We're getting really excited about our upcoming show at
THE TRIAD with LED
BLIMPIE. Unfortunately however, our keyboardist Greg has had to
take leave of absence from the band. The good news is the fabulously
talented Dave Kopperman has stepped in for Greg and has been knocking
us out at rehearsals. Wait 'till you hear him! Also joining us for
the first time will be an awesome sax player named Charlie Post! See
you there! |
| January 10, 2008 |
• Happy and a healthy new year to all of you from US NOT THEM!
• We'd like to thank the web site Tribute
City for honoring us as one of their featured bands again this
month.

• How would you like to see the reunited Pink
Floyd do a concert with the reunited Led Zeppelin??? We would too,
but it ain' t gonna happen!!!
So why not enjoy the next
best thing... On February 23, 2008, we'll be sharing the stage
with our friends LED
BLIMPIE (the killer Led Zeppelin tribute band). Each band will
do a full 90 minute set. It promises to be a great evening of classic
rock, by 2 of New York's hottest bands!
It's all going down at TRIAD
(158 west 72nd Street) on February 23rd. Mark your calendars! |
| December 14, 2007 |
• Happy Holidays, from US NOT THEM to all of you!!!
• After many delays and much anticipation, we finally
can make our first gig announcement for 2008!!! We'll be playing at
LeFrak Hall on the campus of Queens College on April 9th. Details
will follow soon. Be there!!! |
| November 12, 2007 |
• We are pleased to announce that the lovely
and talented, Victoria Modica has joined the band as our new background
vocalist. It has been so exciting to play with her and Greg! Once
again...We can't wait for you all to hear us! Stay tuned, gig
announcements will be coming soon! No, really.
• The other big news this week is that we just shot
some new band photos with an amazing photographer named Guy Chan.
He was a pleasure to work with, and gets amazing results. Pictures
will be posted soon. In the mean while, check out his web site:
400d.com. |

• What a month! The Police, Genesis, Led Zeppelin
and Van Halen are performing again; Beautiful fall weather is descending
upon our fair city; and we FINALLY have an announcement to make regarding
our keyboard chair (drum roll please)... After an exhaustive search,
the exceptionally talented Greg Savino has joined our band! Back in
the day (as the kids say), Greg was Debbie Gibson's musical director
- but we don't hold that against him (ha, ha!). His experience and
influence are inspiring us all to play even better. We can't wait
for you all to hear us! Stay tuned, gig announcements will be coming
soon! |
| June 25, 2007 |
• We'd like to send a special
thanks to the tres fabulous Maria Milito of New York's classic rock
station Q104.3
for mentioning our keyboardist search on her web blog. We've been
big fans of her show for years, so we're honored that she was willing
to lend a hand. |

The official US NOT THEM: "Help find us a new keyboardist"
contest!
As many of you already know, our keyboardist has unfortunately decided
he must leave our band.
Well... the show must go on! We are now faced with the challenge of
finding a first-class keyboard wizard to recreate (Floyd keyboardist)
Rick Wright's parts. This is where YOU come in. We are offering a
prize to anyone that directly leads us to our new band member. What
do you win you ask??? How about a DVD of the PINK FLOYD classic THE
WALL!!! Not enough you say? Hmmm... okay, we'll throw in a DVD of
the outrageously cool PULSE concert video too. Now what Floyd fan
wouldn't want those in their collection?
So, pass the word on to anyone you know that might be suitable ASAP.
This opportunity won't last for long - it's a "great gig"
(bad pun intended). Email us at info@notfloyd.com
with the information.
Thanks and good luck - you just might be our winner! |

• With each one of our performances we pay homage to PINK
FLOYD and the amazing music they've given us. Today however, I'd
like to take a moment to acknowledge another one of my musical heroes,
Brad Delp of the band BOSTON. Late last night I learned of Brad's
untimely passing and haven't been able to get him off of my mind
all day. 55 is just too young to go. On the surface, one might see
very little in common between FLOYD and BOSTON. I see things differently;
both bands were ground breaking, instantly identifiable, possessed
virtuoso guitarists, passionate vocalists and had a huge influence
on aspiring musicians around the world. I was touched by all of
the wonderful things written about Brad in the media today. I wonder
if he knew how beloved he was - I hope so.
Brad, thanks for the music. You will be missed.

talented people, LeAnne Broas on backing vocals, and Chris Shade on
Saxophone. They have been a real asset in helping us put forth the
best show possible. Look for them at our next gig at The Underscore
and on our photos page.
•
Thanks to all who joined us for another memorable show at SOMEPLACE
ELSE last weekend. Special thanks to the great Genesis tribute band,

Good news and bad news...
• First the good news.
We're finally going to play again at THE
UNDERSCORE on November 10tth. We had a great time there over the
summer and can't wait to play there again.
• The bad
news is, our show in Nyack on October 28 has been cancelled due to
a flaky club owner. We'll try to reschedule something in Rockland
County soon! Sorry for any inconvenience. |

• Great news... we have been chosen as a featured band
on the Tribute
City web site for this week!!! Thanks Tribute City, you guys rock!!!
• More exciting news... our drummer, Jonathan Appell, has
recently played on a song for Enrique
Iglesias. It's a great tune, and Enrique sounds awesome on it.
Hopefully it will be on his next album (the final song selections
haven't been made yet). Let's keep our fingers crossed! |
