Ben bought his first guitar in 1989, inspired by the music of The Police, U2, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and of course, Pink Floyd. He has since played in several bands in DC and NYC. In a former life, he studied classical violin at Juilliard, where his brain was reprogrammed for perfect pitch via methods that would not pass muster under the Geneva Convention.

To recreate David Gilmour’s distinctive guitar tone, Ben uses a Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Reissue, a Fender American Series Stratocaster, a Line 6 Variax 700 acoustic, and an ever-changing array of effects and amps. You can hear his original music at www.burningyen.com.
